If we’ve learnt anything from rappers, it’s the importance of pimping out our rides. That’s because plain old standard just isn’t good enough. If you have seen enough hip hop videos, you have seen all sorts of modifications. From shiny new grills and rims to jumping hydraulics. There’s nothing too extravagant for rappers when it comes to their rides. They have started a trend that has been followed by many car enthusiasts around the world. If you see a pimped out Cadillac driving down the street, thank 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg for it. Here are a few car trade shows, where you will have the privilege of seeing all these cars under the same roof.

SEMA show

What can’t you expect out of Las Vegas? The city boasts casinos, live performances and car shows. The SEMA show hosted at the Las Vegas Convention Center is one the largest and most popular car shows in the country. In 1986, stand-up comedian and car enthusiast Jay Leno made an appearance at the SEMA show Industry Awards Banquet. If you end up losing all your money at the Bellagio, don’t forget to check out the SEMA show before spiraling into depression.

Goodwood Festival of Speed

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a motor racing car show, which is held on the grounds of the Goodwood House, West Sussex, England. Any car even remotely connected to the motor racing history can be found here. The show had to implement an advance-ticket-only policy to curb the large number of visitors pouring in. A record number of 158,000 people attended the show in 2003. Even the latest F1 cars can be seen at this event.

Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

The Concours d’Elegance is a charity event held in California to honor vintage cars from both the prewar and postwar era. The Concours d’Elegance is French for, “a competition of elegance”. The judges divide the cars into classes depending on the year, type, country of origin, etc. Winners are selected from each class. The grand prize winner is then selected from this pool of winners.

Orange County Auto Show

The Orange County Auto Show is annually held at the Anaheim Convention Center since 1996. Many new cars are unveiled at the show, which you can test drive. The Acura NSX ‘The Avengers’ concept car was unveiled at the 2012 edition of the show. You know, the burgundy colored sports car that Tony Stark and Bruce Banner drive away in at the end of the Avengers film. The show is hosted by the Orange County Automobile Dealers Association and the Southland Motor Car Dealers Association.

The culture of car modifications is one that is gaining momentum throughout the world. Even some of the lamest cars can be seen with spoilers attached to them. There are special auto body shops that are dedicated to the purpose of car customizations. Customizing your ride increases its value and improves your street cred. If you want to be a part of these car shows, simply load up your customized or vintage car into a race car trailer and drive out to one of these places.
